Happy Birthday to Me!

This past weekend I celebrated my 21st birthday! Sweets & treats were everywhere I turned this weekend. Some peanut butter and chocolate pie, blueberry muffins, chocolate chip cookies… and my new favorite, homemade chocolate and red wine cupcakes! My friends came and surprised me with a dozen of these scrumptious creations. I wish I had taken a picture of them before they disappeared! But here is a recipe I found for this decadent dessert… I’ll have to make a batch myself sometime! Enjoy!

Permalink Peanut Butter and Chocolate Love If there’s any combination that I think may beat out chocolate and strawberries, it’s peanut butter and chocolate. This take on the classic pb & chocolate cookie is the perfect variation for a Valentine’s Day treat to share. (or not!) I might just have to whip up a batch of these next week… Enjoy, and spread the love!
Permalink Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes These cupcakes look incredible. (Again, you can never go wrong with chocolate and strawberries.) The recipe I found for these is actually vegan-friendly, and easily adjusted to a gluten free variety. The perfect cupcake for everyone! ~ Want more chocolate and berry ideas? Check out this Brownie topped as a Fruit Tart! And here’s an easy recipe for a yummy frosting: cream cheese and white chocolate… simple as that! Warm the ingredients (but not for too long!) and mix the two together until smooth. Spread the homemade icing across the top of the brownie, and top with fresh mixed berries or fruits of your choice! Also, this is delicious and probably more common on a shortbread crust, but I love this idea to top a brownie! YUM!

Permalink Hedgehog Donut Holes  This is probably the closest thing to an appropriate Groundhog Day treat you could get. But they are so cute and clever! Donut holes, melting chocolate, and chocolate sprinkles… how simple!
Permalink A Taste of Summertime How sweet are these cupcakes?! Just add a little red coloring and some mini chocolate chips to a vanilla or white cake batter, bake as instructed, and frost with green icing. What a cute treat! These have me craving the summer already. Too bad we’ve got another 6 more weeks of winter ahead…
Permalink Adorable Turtle Cupcakes: MY OWN PHOTO* Ta Da! A friend of mine discovered these creative cupcakes, and we absolutely loved them! So, we got together with a few friends of ours and tested out the creation. The finished product was just too cute to eat, and so simple!
